Opening day of World Ag Expo was launched today with a fly-over by a Super Hornet jets from Lemoore Naval Air Station, a star-studded Opening Ceremonies and celebratory cannon blasts.
The fly-over featured an F/A-18F jets, with Major Dan "Trigger" Kaercher, Pilot, US Air Force and LT Jeff "Creature" Creighan, WSO, US Navy, from Squadron VFA-109.
Preceding the fly-over, opening ceremonies attracted a crowd of local and state dignitaries and elected officials who gathered to celebrate World Ag Expo as a huge local accomplishment that generates global impact.
Tulare Mayor Wayne Ross called World Ag Expo “the superbowl” of ag equipment shows, and noted that expo draws just as many people – “but I believe this is a better crowd!”
The International Business Center was a busy place as international attendees registered, relaxed and planned their tour of the 2.6 million square feet of show grounds.
The 2011 show has attracted 50 international exhibitors and traditionally attracts attendees from over 70 nations.
Tonight’s Concerts for a Cause features CMA Male Vocalist of the Year Blake Shelton in concert at World Ag Expo. Tickets are available online at worldagexpo.com. In concert Wednesday is David Nail with Blake Shelton. Both concerts are fundraisers for ag education and awareness.
World Ag Expo continues Wednesday, with gates open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Register to win daily give-aways at J30.
A diverse array of seminars is held each day, offering experts and the latest information on topics ranging from beef to dairy, export to air quality. Over 1,500 exhibitors are showing their products, technology and services on over 2,300 spaces.
